WEST GLOVER, Vt. -- Authorities say an early-morning fire in a West Glover church was arson.
Church Fire Deemed ArsonThe fire on Tuesday caused $500,000 in damage to the West Glover Congregational Church, making it unusable.
West Glover Fire Chief Mark Wright said the fire, which was confined to the back of the building, destroyed the pulpit and damaged the altar and many pews.Most of the damage was caused by smoke, heat and water.The cause of the fire is still pending.The 40 members of the West Glover Congregational Church will likely be attending one of the two sister churches until the church, built in the 1832, is repaired.
